Here are my images: all are great examples of student engagement, taken from our field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry.
The big idea of these photos is engagement in the classroom.
Despite the different contexts of each photo, the student engagement is evident.
I was drawn to this idea because in some of my classes last year, student engagement became an issue. I had students who would tell me, "no offense, but this is really boring." I had heard this before- I had accepted that there are things we must learn in life that are not necessarily the most interesting topics, but I felt this year I had heard the complaints more than ever. My goal this year is quite simple: to create lessons that better engage my students. In these three very different images, students of all ages are engaged in the content being presented.
I used Fotor to create these images- A word to the wise: if you are creating your images and website on a Surface 3(or other surface tablet), I suggest using a mouse. The touch pad and touch screen do not coexist peacefully with Fotor and Weebly! One final tip, for Weebly creators: the text and pictures appear much smaller on the actual website than on the editing site, so enlarge your text accordingly...!
